High participation, innovation and international projection mark the second day of FIMA 2026

2026-02-11

FIMA 2026, the International Agricultural Machinery Fair, continues to exceed expectations on its second day. The event, celebrating its 44th edition at the Zaragoza Trade Fair, maintains the high standard it has shown since its opening. After a first day marked by the institutional support of King Felipe VI, Wednesday's activities stood out for the quality and diversity of the technical sessions, forums, and professional meetings, which brought together a large number of professionals and fostered the generation of new business opportunities.

Trade missions continue

International outreach was one of the day's main focuses with the development of the ICEX FIMA 2026 Trade Missions, held in Hall 7. This initiative, promoted in collaboration with ICEX and the Zaragoza Trade Fair, facilitates direct contact between exhibiting companies and delegations, fostering the opening of new avenues for cooperation and exports. This international momentum has been reinforced by the continuation of the trade missions organized by Feria de Zaragoza during the afternoon.

Innovation, Technology, and Sustainability

The 10th National Rural Development Forum, held in the Auditorium of the Feria de Zaragoza Congress Center and organized by the Official Association of Agricultural Engineers of Aragon, Navarre, and the Basque Country, was one of the day's key events. Under the theme "Rural Development in the New International Context," the forum brought together institutional representatives and professionals from the sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities of rural areas, agricultural innovation, and public policies. The opening ceremony included the participation of Javier Rincón, Minister of Agriculture; Jorge Villarroya, President of Feria de Zaragoza; Jesús Betrán, Dean of the Official Association of Agricultural Engineers of Aragon, Navarre, and the Basque Country; and Isabel Bombal, Director General of Rural Development, Innovation, and Agri-food Training at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food.

The second day placed a strong emphasis on technological innovation and the digitalization of the agricultural sector. The FIMA TECH area hosted AGRICLUSTER INNOVATION SUMMER 2026, organized by Campag, an event focused on technological solutions applied to the agriculture of the future. Likewise, the FIMA TECH Start-Up Forum, held in Hall 8, brought together startups and experts to analyze challenges such as sustainability and biotechnology, robotics and digital automation, precision agriculture, and strategic competitiveness.

In the regulatory sphere, several specialized presentations were held, including “Cybersecurity is no longer optional: how regulation will affect machinery manufacturers from June 2026,” organized by Ambimetrics, and the session on ISO-Bus regulation and commercial solutions, organized by HYDAC, which highlighted the importance of anticipating new European regulatory frameworks. ANSEMAT also addressed the safe use of agricultural vehicles in the field and on the road, emphasizing the safety and mobility of machinery.

Technical Workshops and Parallel Activities

Throughout the day, numerous technical workshops and parallel activities took place. These included the International Garlic Forum, organized by Feria de Zaragoza, which analyzed the current situation and prospects for this strategic crop.

Other events included the meeting of the fruit tree nursery working group, organized by FEPEX; the practical workshop “Key Moments in the Taxation of Family Farming Businesses,” organized by Ibercaja; and the workshop on organic production, organized by the Government of Aragon, which focused on promoting and regulating this production model.

The day's program also included sessions dedicated to the RENOVE Plan and quality labels, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as well as the presentation "From the Tractor to the Office: Total Automation of Agricultural Data," organized by ISAGRI, focused on the digitalization of agronomic management. On the business front, FIMA hosted the annual meeting of Schaffer Ibérica dealers, as well as institutional receptions with leading companies in the sector such as KUHN and Antonio Carraro.

FIMA 2026 Technical Innovation Competition and Excellence Award Ceremony

This evening, starting at 8:30 p.m., the official awards ceremony for the Technical Innovation Competition and the FIMA 2026 Excellence Award will take place in the Paraninfo of the University of Zaragoza. This is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the agricultural sector, both nationally and internationally.

The second day of FIMA 2026 once again highlights the event's role as an essential forum for innovation, business, and strategic reflection within the agri-food sector, combining technology, internationalization, and knowledge to serve a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive agriculture.

FIMA will continue tomorrow with a full program of activities, presentations, and professional meetings that will further promote dialogue and the evolution of the sector.
