HYATLÓN
The Hyathlon is a new hybrid sport promoted by the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI), backed by World Triathlon, which aims to combine running with high-intensity fitness training. FETRI has launched the first official Hyathlon World Tour, which features four venues in Spain:
· Madrid: 10 and 11 October 2026, at the Gallur Municipal Sports Centre.
· La Nucía (Alicante): 24 and 25 October 2026, at the Combat Sport Centre.
· Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: 14 and 15 November 2026, at the Plaza de la Música – ExpoDeca.
· Zaragoza: 28 and 29 November 2026, in Hall 4 of the Zaragoza Exhibition Centre.
Zaragoza will host the final event of the circuit and is the most special because it will have a different format to the other cities.
The competition format in Zaragoza is H8. This means there are eight functional stations and an eight-kilometre race (1 km between each station).
The stations are: 1,000 metres on the Ski Erg, 50 metres of Sled Push, 50 metres of Sled Pull, 80 metres of Burpee Broad Jump, 1,000 metres on the Rowerg, 200 metres of Farmers’ Carry (dumbbells), 100 metres of Sandbag Lunges and 100 repetitions of Wall Balls (medicine ball squats).
The categories and formats are:
· Individual: Elite and Open categories (divided into age groups) for both Men and Women.
· Pairs: Athletes compete together throughout the entire course. This is divided into Men’s, Women’s and Mixed categories in the Elite and Open divisions.
· Relays: Teams of three in the Open category, with Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions.
· Paralympic Hyatlon: Adapted categories in accordance with the classes recognised by the official regulations.
