Enomaq 2017, the most innovative edition in recent years

2016-12-20

More exhibitors, a larger exhibition space, and a higher percentage of new technical innovations submitted for competition. This is how the next edition of ENOMAQ 2017, the most prestigious wine, olive oil, and fruit and vegetable trade fair in Southern Europe, is shaping up.

From February 14 to 17, 2017, ENOMAQ, OLEOMAQ, TECNOVID, OLEOTEC, and FRUYVER will transform Feria de Zaragoza into the leading international capital for the wine, olive oil, and fruit and vegetable markets. In this new edition, the agri-food industry is once again demonstrating strong support for the event organized by the Aragonese trade fair institution, surpassing the 2015 edition in attendance.

All of this was highlighted at the last meeting of the Organizing Committee, held at the iconic and admired Pablo Gargallo Museum in Zaragoza on December 16. Thus, the new Committee President, Alfredo Ibisate, thanked the attendees and Feria de Zaragoza for considering him the ideal person to represent the companies. He also paid tribute to his father, who had also presided over this Committee, and predicted “good times” for ENOMAQ.

The General Manager of Feria de Zaragoza, Rogelio Cuairán, also emphasized the event's long and successful history, which suggests that “we are going to have a great edition.”

For his part, the Commercial Director of Feria de Zaragoza, Alberto J. López, expressed his satisfaction at having, at this time, “more than a thousand exhibiting brands,” which will require “opening a new pavilion,” thus increasing the exhibition space and “exceeding 49,000 square meters of exhibition space for the event.” Thus, as López explained, these five events will become a unique showcase for discovering the latest innovations in techniques, machinery, and equipment for wineries and olive oil mills.

Trade Missions and Technical Innovations Competition

Once again, Feria de Zaragoza is organizing an extensive program of trade missions, representing a “firm commitment to opening the sector to new international markets” with the aim of generating professional contacts for the Spanish companies present at the event. This year, the event is expected to draw more than 60 companies from some 20 countries, again an increase compared to the previous edition, held in February 2015.

One of the hallmarks of the wine event is its commitment to innovation. The event coordinator, Javier Camo, explained that ENOMAQ 2017 “represents the edition with the most new products presented in recent years.” Up to a 30 percent increase in products submitted to the competition compared to the previous show represents a considerable rise and “reflects the companies’ ongoing efforts to professionalize the sector.”

Another highlight is the launch of the 2nd ENOMAQ EXCELLENCE Award for best practices, which will recognize a winery that meets criteria for research, development, innovation, sustainability, quality, and environmental standards. This award reinforces the show’s commitment to contributing to the improvement of the wine industry, further enhancing the event’s international standing as a leading showcase for Spanish-Portuguese technology and machinery.

In short, according to the head of sales, attendees will have the opportunity to “discover the main technological innovations in quality, efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility within the wine and olive oil industries.”

Conferences and Other Planned Activities

The organization of activities alongside the five trade shows is a valuable tool for industry professionals. Among these, the Winemaker's Corner, organized by the Spanish Federation of Winemakers' Associations, and the FRUYVER conference, organized by the College of Agricultural Engineers, are particularly noteworthy. Technical conferences will also be held under the auspices of Wine Week, as well as those organized by exhibiting companies participating in the various fairs.

Without a doubt, from February 14 to 17, ENOMAQ-OLEOMAQ, TECNOVID-OLEOTEC, and FRUYVER 2017 will once again become an unmissable event for manufacturers, producers, exporters, importers, winemakers, grape growers, fruit producers, and other professionals in the wine, olive oil, fruit, and vegetable sectors. All of them will be present at the Zaragoza Trade Fair for this most innovative and eagerly anticipated edition.
