ENOMAQ—the International Exhibition of Machinery and Techniques for Cultivation, Processing, and Packaging in the Beverage and Liquid Food Industries—held the third Organizing Committee meeting for its 25th edition, scheduled for January 26–28, 2027, at the Feria de Zaragoza exhibition center. The meeting served to define the key content and activities for an event that arrives with a comprehensive rebranding and new sectors represented.

The meeting took place at the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM Zaragoza), an intergovernmental organization founded in 1962. Comprising 13 member states, CIHEAM specializes in training, research, and cooperation to promote agricultural sustainability, food security, and rural development across the Mediterranean region.

Progress in commercialization and internationalization

On the commercial front, with five months still to go before the event, the trade fair has already reached 75% of the exhibition space booked for the 2025 edition. Additionally, agreements with key industry associations have been renewed.

International participation also continues to grow, with registered companies hailing from 26 countries: Germany, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, France, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.

These figures are complemented by international missions—one of the standard internationalization initiatives driven by Feria de Zaragoza.

"Conecta Talento" comes to ENOMAQ

The "Conecta Talento" (Connect Talent) format—already a feature of other Feria de Zaragoza events such as FIMA 2026, FIGAN 2025, and SMOPYC 2026—is being introduced at ENOMAQ 2027. The initiative aims to bring the sector closer to new generations and help them envision their professional futures within it. As detailed during the committee meeting, students will participate in a gathering with industry professionals and take guided tours led by various exhibitors.

Through this initiative, the event aims to spark career interest, broaden students' professional horizons, and strengthen the link between young talent and the industry. The inaugural edition of "ENOMAQ Conecta Talento" will take place on January 28, 2027, at the Zaragoza Trade Fair (Feria de Zaragoza).

A gala to celebrate ENOMAQ’s 50th anniversary

The awards will hold special significance as they coincide with the celebration of ENOMAQ’s 50th anniversary. Consequently, this edition will feature a commemorative gala that not only honors the winners of the Technological Improvements and Innovations Competition and the Excellence Awards but also traces the event's history and serves as a meeting point for exhibitors, associations, institutions, award-winning companies, and the trade press.

During the committee meeting, the jury members for the various ENOMAQ 2027 competitions and awards were announced. The jury for the Technological Improvements and Innovations Competition will comprise Ernesto Franco (UNIZAR), Luis Sanz (OEPM), Juan Cacho (UNIZAR), and María Videgain (UNIZAR).

Meanwhile, the jury for the Winemaker Award and the Winery Excellence Award will include Ernesto Franco (UNIZAR), Juan Cacho (UNIZAR), Fernando Bordejé Aznar (AAE), José Ignacio García (DO Campo de Borja), Javier Domeneque Sanz (Winemaker), and Luis Buitrón (FEAE). Regarding the awards linked to the olive oil sector, the *Maestro de Almazara* (Master Miller) and *Excelencia Almazara* (Olive Mill Excellence) awards will be judged by Vicente Sanz (olive oil processing expert), Juan Baseda (Aceites del Bajo Aragón Tasting Panel), Juan Peñamil (Mercacei), and Susana Romera (ESAO), while the *Maestro Cervecero* (Master Brewer) and *Excelencia Cervecera* (Brewery Excellence) awards will feature Carlos Inaraja (AETCM) and Alberto Arillo (AETCM).

The event will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2027, at the Zaragoza Conference Centre.

Technical sessions addressing sector challenges

During the Committee meeting, progress was also made on the program of thematic sessions for ENOMAQ 2027. These sessions will address the key challenges and opportunities facing the sectors represented at the trade fair: winemaking, viticulture, olive growing, olive oil processing, the brewing industry, arboriculture, and the beverage and liquid food industry.

The sessions will focus on issues such as sustainability and climate change, digitalization, artificial intelligence and innovation, the circular economy, wine tourism, and dealcoholization. The goal is to create forums for debate that allow for discussion of these topics.

As in previous editions, ENOMAQ will feature the "Tasting Corner" (*Rincón de Catas*), a space dedicated to showcasing the quality of the agricultural products at the fair. The program will include the "Winemaker's Corner" (*Rincón del Enólogo*) organized by the Spanish Federation of Oenology (FEAE), featuring a technical tasting of dealcoholized wines that won awards at VinEspaña, as well as an experimental tasting aimed at consumers.
