Feria de Zaragoza hosts the return of ENOFORUM to Spain

2026-05-20

Enoforum celebrates its 23rd edition today, the fourth to be held at Feria de Zaragoza. Considered a leading event for researchers, winemakers, agronomists, and companies in the wine sector, the event has been held in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Chile, and the United States. After its stop in Verona in 2015, it returns to Spain with a program that brings together speakers from various countries and, for the first time, includes a space dedicated entirely to vineyards. Over two days, May 20 and 21, industry professionals will gather in the Auditorium and other rooms of the Zaragoza Trade Fair to discuss the challenges facing the wine industry.

Aragon boasts seven designations of origin: Cariñena, Campo de Borja, Calatayud, Somontano, Solar de Urbezo, Cava, and Vino de Pago Aylés, as well as six protected geographical indications: Bajo Aragón, Valdejalón, Valle del Cinca, Ribera del Jiloca, Ribera del Gallego-Cinco Villas, and Ribera de Queiles. This collection reflects the importance of Aragonese wine, a benchmark for quality, tradition, and innovation in the sector.

This year's program addresses some of the most relevant topics of the moment. In the vineyard sector, it will cover adaptation to climate change, including plant material, clones, rootstocks, and soil pH management, as well as strategies to reduce sugar content while maintaining grape quality, especially in warm climates.

Special attention will also be given to soil management and solutions to its degradation from a sustainability perspective, and to nitrogen fertilization and its impact on yeast-available nitrogen (NFA).

The agronomic section is completed by water management and new irrigation strategies (including the use of reclaimed water), vineyard health (from fungal diseases to integrated and organic production strategies), and wood diseases, one of the main global threats to vineyards.

All of this will be covered by speakers from universities, research centers, and companies in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, and Portugal, among other countries. During the two days, technical tastings of wines made with new practices will be held, and there will be an exhibition area where companies will present their latest solutions for vineyards and wineries. Scientific poster sessions with the latest research results will also take place, and networking spaces will be available to foster the exchange of knowledge among professionals.

Enoforum is a space where the three pillars that drive the sector forward converge: public research, the supplier industry, and field professionals. The event is held in collaboration with ENOMAQ, Gienol, Oenoviti International, and the main Spanish associations of oenologists.
