Feria de Zaragoza highlights the important work of olive oil mills
2018-05-28
Innovation and practicality in the workplace are two fundamental values for Feria de Zaragoza when it comes to improving the competitiveness of companies. That is why the trade fair institution is joining forces to recognize those companies or firms that work daily to improve it.
In this spirit, and as part of the 7th International Exhibition of Machinery and Equipment for Olive Mills and Packaging – OLEOMAQ 2019 – which will take place from February 26 to March 1 of next year at the Zaragoza Trade Fair Center, the first edition of the ‘OLEMAQ Excellence Award’ will be held.
Following the success of this award at events like ENOMAQ, Feria de Zaragoza is launching this initiative to recognize and reward the good work of olive mills that contribute innovative, practical, and original elements to the international olive oil sector. The ultimate goal of the competition organizers with this award is to recognize innovative business and management models applicable to the current industry and market.
The Excellence Award jury, comprised of experts from the olive oil sector, will evaluate criteria such as the mill's management model, traceability, yield per hectare, sustainability, and environmental management, both for the benefit of the business and in its relationship with the surrounding community.
Olive oil mills interested in participating must submit their proposals before October 22, 2018. The winner will be announced on November 5. Detailed information and the competition rules can be found on the official Feria de Zaragoza website (www.feriazaragoza.es).
This initiative reinforces OLEOMAQ's commitment to and support for a more stable, sustainable, and economically progressive olive oil market. Therefore, in addition to encouraging companies and professionals with this type of recognition, it offers them, from February 26 to March 1, a comprehensive program of workshops and conferences in which to learn about and discuss the trends and challenges presented by the international olive oil sector.
