Trade agreements take center stage on the second day of Enomaq 2017

2017-02-15

Commercial activity has been the main focus of the second day of the ENOMAQ, TECNOVID, OLEOMAQ, OLEOTEC, and FRUYVER trade shows. In addition to the numerous agreements and contacts being made between companies and professionals, the arrival at Feria de Zaragoza of the 56 delegations participating in the trade mission program has boosted meetings between professionals in viticulture, olive growing, and horticulture from around the world.

This international promotion tool, organized by the Aragonese trade fair institution, has attracted representatives from various companies in Algeria, the United States, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, and Turkey to its pavilions. The welcome address, given by Juan Luis López, delegate of the Secretary General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Casablanca, and Javier Camo, head of the Agri-food division at Feria de Zaragoza, kicked off a flurry of agreements between companies in the sector.

Another highlight of the second day of the fair was the presentation of diplomas to the companies recognized for their technical innovations at this year's ENOMAQ. The 17 winning companies received their awards from the General Manager of Feria de Zaragoza, Rogelio Cuairán, the Commercial Director, Alberto López, and the president of the jury that awarded the prizes, Juan Cacho.

Following the discussion of the award-winning innovations, the head of the fairgrounds participated in one of the forums delving into the realities of the agri-food industry, where he emphasized the role of technology in the wine and olive oil sectors. There, Juan Vázquez, a member of the board of directors of the Wine Technology Platform, identified Feria de Zaragoza as a turning point for the use and development of ICT in the wine sector.

Thus, innovation once again proved to be the cornerstone of today's technical sessions. Inaugurated by the director of the trade fair institution, the Government of Aragon, through its Department of Rural Development and Sustainability, collaborated on a presentation whose central theme was the production of healthier and more authentic wines through innovation.

Fruits and vegetables also took center stage in another morning session, at an event organized by the Official Association of Agricultural Engineers of Aragon, Navarre, and the Basque Country. Entitled “The Incorporation of New Technological Developments in Production, Processing, and Distribution,” the symposium called for the adoption of innovative systems in the production, processing, and distribution of these products.

Having reached the midpoint of the events, Feria de Zaragoza is establishing itself as a technological benchmark for the wine, olive oil, fruit, and vegetable industries. Proof of this is that important wine associations, such as the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils or the Spanish Federation of Associations of Oenologists, have held their board meetings and assembly at the Aragonese fairgrounds.
