Countdown to ENOMAQ 2025: An edition that reaffirms its international leadership with a powerful program of conferences and parallel activities

2025-01-07

In just one month, ENOMAQ 2025, the International Exhibition of Machinery, Techniques and Equipment for the wine, olive, and brewing industries, will be held at Feria de Zaragoza. This edition of the event reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development of technical knowledge.

The fairgrounds in the Aragonese capital will organize and host the 24th edition of the event from February 11 to 13, 2025, consolidating its position as the leading event for professionals in the three sectors involved. This is evidenced by the strong support shown by the main associations and companies in the sector. More than 800 brands from 28 countries have already confirmed their participation, resulting in a large exhibition offering that will be further enhanced by a wide variety of parallel activities, presentations, and technical workshops.

The program of technical workshops will take place at the Zaragoza Trade Fair Congress Center and will begin on Tuesday, February 11, with the session entitled “The Wine Sector Facing Changes in Markets and Consumption.” This session will feature presentations by Azucena Gracia, from CITA-Aragón; and Merche Sánchez, from the Public University of Navarra; who will present and analyze the keys to adapting to a constantly evolving environment. This opening day will also include roundtables led by representatives of prominent wine organizations, such as Raúl Compes, from CIHAEM Zaragoza; Rafael del Rey, from AEPEV; and María Naranjo Crespo, from ICEX.

Wednesday, February 12, will be dedicated to the revaluation of products in the wine sector. Salvador Manjón, director of La Semana Vitivinícola (Wine Week), will moderate a session consisting of four presentations that will explore innovative strategies to improve competitiveness and sustainability in wine production. The first presentation will be “The Profession as the Cornerstone of Evolution,” led by Santiago Jordi, President of the UIOE. Next, Belén García, Director of PAKNET, will present “Moving Towards Circularity in Wine Packaging: Strategies and Opportunities to Address Change.” Emma Castro, Director of the Wine Department of the Spanish Agri-food Cooperatives, will present “Cooperative Wineries: From Vineyard to Glass.” Finally, Clara Martín and Andrea Casquete from the Wine Technical Platform will present “The Added Value of Technological Innovation in the Wine Sector.”

The program will conclude on Thursday, February 13, with a focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing. The final day will include presentations and discussions on how alliances between institutions and companies can drive the sector's development, moderated by Salvador Manjón. The presentations will begin with “The Role of Employers' Associations in the Spanish Wine Sector,” presented by Joaquín Toscas, president of AeCava. Following this, Jesús Mora, General Coordinator of CECRV, will present “Origin as a Generator of Value”; followed by “The Strategy of the Spanish Wine Sector: Milestones Achieved Together and Future Challenges,” presented by Susana García, Director of OIVE. The final focus will be on Artificial Intelligence, with the presentation “How AI Can Help the Wine Sector Throughout the Entire Value Chain,” given by Trinidad Márquez, Technical and Environmental Manager of the Spanish Wine Federation.

ENOMAQ 2025 will feature a dedicated space in Hall 9 of the Zaragoza Trade Fair for commercial presentations by exhibiting companies. Sustainability and innovation will be the main themes, focusing on topics such as innovations in wine filtration systems for efficiently measuring alcohol content; advances in more durable and environmentally friendly cork stoppers; the exploration of technological solutions for packaging; and new developments in production machinery.

The Tasting Corner will once again have a prominent place at the event. During the three days, FEAE, AEMODA, Mercacei, the Higher School of Beer and Malt, and the Catalan Cork Institute will offer themed tastings.

Other organizations in the sector are also showing their support for the event by coordinating activities that will discuss the main opportunities and challenges facing the three industries. Among them, AEMODA will present technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence, applied to process automation; the Aragonese cluster CAMPAG will introduce innovative projects for viticulture; Pink Boots Society Spain will highlight the transformative role of women in the brewing industry; Valgenetics will offer a scientific and technical approach to biotechnology applied to the sector; CIHEAM Zaragoza exposes.

ENOMAQ 2025 will offer its training program, and CAJAMAR and Jorge Gruart will present their sector-specific books.

ENOMAQ 2025 thus continues to position itself as an essential forum for addressing both the challenges and opportunities of the agri-food sector, balancing sustainability, innovation, and tradition; always promoting networking, the exchange of ideas, and the generation of opportunities in the wine, olive oil, and beer industries.

Furthermore, ENOMAQ will host the seventh edition of the VinEspaña National Wine Competition, organized by the Spanish Federation of Oenology (FEAE), in collaboration with the Government of Aragon, the Zaragoza Trade Fair, and the Aragonese Association of Oenologists (AAE). The competition, one of the most prestigious and recognized nationally, will be held on February 12 and 13 at the Zaragoza Trade Fair Auditorium, showcasing the work of Spanish oenologists.
