Feria de Zaragoza holds the first Organizing Committee meeting for FIGAN 2027

2026-01-29

Feria de Zaragoza held on Tuesday, January 28, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for FIGAN 2027, an event that marks the official start of preparations for the next edition of the fair, scheduled to take place from March 16 to 19, 2027. The meeting, held at Feria de Zaragoza’s facilities, served as a starting point for defining the new strategic guidelines that will shape the development of the event.

An organizational structure aligned with the sector

During the meeting, participants emphasized their commitment to strengthening FIGAN as a key hub for business, innovation, knowledge, and talent across the entire livestock value chain, reinforcing its positioning and capacity to respond to the market’s new challenges.

In this new phase, the Committee will be chaired by Ramón Alsina, CEO of bonÀrea Agrupa, a company with extensive experience in the agri-food sector and a vertically integrated model that covers all stages of the value chain.

Another major development is the inclusion of Piensos Costa and Premier Pigs in the Organizing Committee—two leading companies in the sector that bring greater strategic vision and representation to the event.

In his remarks during the meeting, Ramón Alsina highlighted that “FIGAN is not only a key gathering for the livestock sector itself, but also its reflection within society. It works to showcase the value of the sector’s activity, strengthen its recognition, and help society as a whole appreciate the livestock industry’s true importance.”

The meeting also underlined the need to continue developing a fair that is ever more connected to the sector, open to international trends, and committed to sustainability, efficiency, animal welfare, and generational renewal.

FIGAN: looking to the future

The FIGAN 2027 strategy includes strengthening international missions, carried out in partnership with trade offices, industry advisors, and livestock producer associations.

Initiatives such as FIGAN Conecta Talento and FIGAN Jóvenes Ganaderos will return and be reinforced, aiming to attract new generations, promote professional development, and address strategic challenges such as generational renewal, rural depopulation, and talent recruitment and retention. The fair will also once again host the country’s main livestock marketplaces, reinforcing its role as an economic and sectoral benchmark.

The 18th edition will again highlight innovation, excellence, and commitment in the livestock industry through the Innovation and Technological Improvement Awards and Excellence Awards.

FIGAN continues to consolidate its position as the leading event for the livestock sector—a meeting point that embodies innovation, excellence, and adaptability, while showcasing to society the strategic importance of this industry in food production, sustainability, and the well-being of families.
