The Organizing Committee of the International Water, Irrigation, and Environment Exhibition (SMAGUA), comprised of leading companies, organizations, and professional associations in the water industry, met at Mobility City, located in the bridge pavilion in Zaragoza, to discuss the strategy for the next edition.
During the meeting, the planned actions leading up to SMAGUA 2025 were detailed, including the promotional campaign and attendance at industry events, the renewal of agreements with associations, and the strategic communication plan.
The committee also highlighted the organization of awards, such as the Innovations and Technical Improvements competition, which aims to recognize products developed by companies in the sector that invest in R&D&I and stand out for their technological contribution, innovation, and results in meeting market needs.
SMAGUA is already working to increase the presence of international buyer groups and foreign professionals through its trade missions and international initiatives.
A specific working group has been created to develop the technical sessions, a fundamental part of the event, where business meetings, conferences, and other activities will address current challenges for the sector.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS) and ZINNAE, the cluster for the efficient use of water, provided an overview of the challenges and opportunities in the water sector in Europe and Spain.
SMAGUA will be held concurrently with the fourth edition of SPAPER, the International Exhibition of Machinery and Equipment for Pulp, Paper, and Board. This alliance continues to strengthen and greatly benefit both industrial areas.
In addition, this year SMAGUA celebrates its 50th anniversary. Its history dates back to 1974, when the first edition took place under the name "Biennial Monographic Water Exhibition." To commemorate this milestone, a series of activities have been planned leading up to the event, including a special event during the exhibition itself.
The organizers of the event are already immersed in preparations for the next edition, SMAGUA 2025, which will bring together leading professionals from across the water, irrigation, and environmental industries from March 4th to 6th.
