SMAGUA 2023 expands its offering by developing the environment and energy sector

The SMAGUA Organizing Committee met yesterday at the Pignatelli Building, the seat of the Government of Aragon (Zaragoza), with key players in the sector, continuing the scheduled meetings to analyze market trends and the various initiatives underway for the 2023 edition. The organizers expressed high expectations for the twenty-sixth edition of the event.
The Zaragoza Trade Fair is expanding its offerings by reintroducing the environmental sector, providing solutions in key areas such as waste treatment and management, energy recovery, environmental pollution, and the remediation of contaminated soils, with the aim of becoming one of the most important platforms on the international stage.
As in the previous two editions, SMAGUA will be held concurrently with the third edition of SPAPER, the International Exhibition of Machinery and Equipment for Pulp, Paper, and Cardboard, creating a highly beneficial combination for both sectors.
New this year, another exhibition will be held concurrently with SMAGUA, coinciding with the dates of the second edition of the International Renewable Energy Maintenance Fair, EXPOFIMER, which attracted over 2,800 professional visitors to its inaugural edition in 2021 in Zaragoza.
During the meeting, SMAGUA's role as a driving force in the sector and as the premier event for the national water market was highlighted. With a redesigned image that conveys a sense of freshness, emphasizing sustainability and integrating the water and environmental sectors, the event's core values are reflected in its visual identity.
The strong pace of exhibitor registrations was also noted, as well as the significant interest in presenting the latest innovations in the Technical Innovations Competition. This competition aims to incentivize activity among companies in the sector within the framework of the fair, where, each year, jury members evaluate and analyze the submitted products. Companies trust Feria de Zaragoza as their benchmark and business hub.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the actions to be carried out in the coming months leading up to the event were outlined, highlighting the commitment to internationalization. The Feria de Zaragoza team presented the promotional calendar and its participation in in-person events where SMAGUA will be present. Similarly, since the end of the previous edition, Feria de Zaragoza has already begun working to increase the presence of international buyer groups and foreign professionals through its trade missions and international initiatives.
Furthermore, the promotional and communication activities were presented, following a schedule and work plan designed to maximize the event's reach and ensure that professionals have firsthand information about everything happening at Feria de Zaragoza from March 7th to 9th, 2023.
The organization of parallel activities was also highlighted, as they constitute a very useful working tool for industry professionals. In this regard, and in relation to the congress program, some of the key themes of the parallel technical sessions, which will be discussed in the roundtables scheduled for the 2023 edition, were emphasized.
The conclusions drawn at the SMAGUA 2023 Organizing Committee meeting were positive, and the main challenges facing the sector were also discussed.
