UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA DE VALENCIA. DIRA. LABORATORIO ROBÓTICA AGRÍCOLA
Expositor directoThe Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), through its Agricultural Robotics Laboratory, is leading the development of an intelligent system to reduce pesticide use and eradicate six key pests in Mediterranean agriculture. This is the main objective of the international CERBERUS project. To achieve this, CERBERUS proposes the development of a digital platform that, using information from different sources, will generate risk maps and spraying recommendations for users through the application of artificial intelligence algorithms.
The CERBERUS system will be validated for three quarantine pests (F. dorée, X. fastidiosa, B. dorsalis) and three commonly treated pests (L. botrana, B. oleae, C. capitata), as well as for the three most important woody crops in the Mediterranean basin: wine-producing vineyards, olive-producing orchards, and citrus plantations.
Funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe program, the CERBERUS project involves a total of 13 partners from Spain, Cyprus, Slovenia, and Italy, including both academic and research institutions, agricultural companies, and public administration entities. The project began in January and will conclude in December 2027.
