SPAPER joins the Feria de Zaragoza calendar

2018-07-27

The paper sector will take center stage next February at the Zaragoza Trade Fair. SPAPER, the first International Exhibition of Machinery and Equipment for Pulp, Paper, and Cardboard, will be held on February 5, 6, and 7 in the pavilions of the Aragonese trade fair institution, coinciding with the 24th edition of SMAGUA, the largest event focused on the water market in Southern Europe.

Both exhibitions will join forces to contribute to and strengthen two industries—water and paper—that share significant synergies. Furthermore, SMAGUA's experience and prestige will undoubtedly help to promote SPAPER's role in the national market and, in future editions, establish the event as a major international trade fair attraction.

Zaragoza is geographically located at the epicenter of the paper industry in Spain, and with the launch of this trade fair, Feria de Zaragoza is working to generate synergies that will bring greater recognition and business to the paper industry, in which Spain ranks as the sixth largest producer in Europe. In this regard, it is important to highlight the volume and relevance of paper companies located in Aragon, the Basque Country, and Catalonia, which, thanks to their excellent geographical location, facilitate visits by professionals and allow for company visits by leading international players.

Thus, one of the key aspects has been holding SPAPER concurrently with SMAGUA, given that the International Water Exhibition already enjoys the regular presence of paper industry professionals, due to the importance of water in the paper production process.

The event, created to serve the competitive Spanish paper sector, has the support of both regional and national public administrations, as well as the most relevant sector entities, such as ASPAPEL, the Spanish Association of Pulp, Paper and Board Manufacturers, whose collaboration and support have been fundamental for Feria de Zaragoza and SPAPER. Alongside this important collaboration, the trade fair initiative has also received support from the Basque Country Cluster, as well as some of the most important paper companies in Spain, whose message was crucial for the launch of SPAPER.

The aim of the trade fair is to promote a professional space that provides ideas and solutions to improve the paper, pulp and board business internationally. To this end, in addition to the exhibition area, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in important conferences and debates that will address some of the most relevant aspects for the sector and those shaping its future.

Technology, innovation and sector development will undoubtedly be key elements for SPAPER, given that all three elements are part of the trade fair DNA that Feria de Zaragoza infuses into all its events and which will be evident from February 5 to 7, 2019.
