SMOPYC 2026 brings back the Outdoor Area and the Demo Zone
2026-03-26
The International Public Works, Construction, and Mining Machinery Exhibition (SMOPYC), in its 20th edition, is once again focusing on the Outdoor Area and Demo Zone, designed to offer visitors and professionals an experience closer to the realities of on-site work. This expansion of the exhibition space will allow manufacturers and companies in the sector to showcase heavy machinery, specialized equipment, and technological solutions under real operating conditions.
The Demo Zone will be one of the main attractions of the event, with scheduled technical demonstrations that will allow visitors to see excavation, compaction, lifting, and material handling equipment in operation.
Meanwhile, the Outdoor Area will concentrate on large-format machinery, a space designed to highlight the technological prowess of the manufacturers present at the fair. SMOPYC's exhibition offerings will revolve around seven sectors:
Earthmoving
This sector encompasses machinery and equipment for civil works, infrastructure, and mining. It will include compaction, demolition, excavation, trenching, and road construction equipment, as well as applications for buried pipelines such as oil and gas pipelines.
This is a key segment for infrastructure development, where the efficiency, power, and sustainability of equipment are becoming increasingly important.
Components, Spare Parts, and Accessories
This will bring together manufacturers and distributors of parts, spares, and services necessary for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery.
It includes hydraulic components, motors, measuring and control equipment, workshop tools, testing and laboratory equipment, surveying solutions, personal protective equipment, and related services. This area is essential to guarantee the operational continuity, safety, and efficiency of the machinery fleet.
Lifting
This area will focus on solutions for moving loads and working at height with maximum safety.
Therefore, it will include tower cranes, truck-mounted cranes, aerial work platforms, mobile scaffolding, and telescopic handlers, among other equipment. These are key technologies for working at heights, distinguished by their innovation in safety, precision, and operational efficiency.
Drilling
This segment will bring together machinery and technologies for drilling into the ground, for both construction and mining/civil engineering applications.
It also includes horizontal and vertical drilling equipment, as well as solutions for special foundations, tunnels, boreholes, and geotechnical work.
Aggregates and Concrete
This sector will encompass equipment, materials, and plants for the production, processing, and recycling of aggregates and concrete.
It includes machinery for crushing, screening, and classifying materials, as well as facilities for the production of cement, lime, mortar, and precast elements. It will also cover mineral recycling and processing, essential for improving the industry's sustainability.
Auxiliary Equipment
This section will include a wide range of complementary equipment that supports the main operations on construction sites.
It includes compressors, generators, scaffolding, formwork, concrete mixers, light machinery, power and hand tools, rebar handling equipment, mechanical and pneumatic power systems, as well as safety, signage, and prevention solutions.
Industrial Vehicles
This sector will encompass vehicles used for transport, maintenance, and logistical support on construction sites and in industrial environments. It includes trucks, dump trucks, special vehicles, tires, and repair and maintenance equipment—essential elements for ensuring the mobility of materials, equipment, and personnel on projects.
The addition of the Demo Zone and the expansion of the Outdoor Area aim to offer a more experiential trade fair, where technological innovation and machinery can be seen and evaluated. In this way, SMOPYC continues to evolve to meet the new needs of the industry, reinforcing its role as a business, innovation, and knowledge platform for construction, public works, and mining.
